Data
Timely, complete, and high quality cancer data are crucial for identifying areas where greater prevention efforts are needed, for identifying potential causes of cancer, and for monitoring progress toward reducing cancer mortality.
Current activities include:
- Identifying existing data sources
- Collaborating to secure analysis for the data source
- Developing a surveillance document to facilitate evidence-based approach to cancer prevention and control
- Reviewing and providing feedback on the revised Evaluation Plan
Evaluation
Evaluation is a critical and central component of Maine’s comprehensive cancer control initiatives. It is through the evaluation process that activities can be monitored, Consortium membership satisfaction can be assessed, and progress towards reducing the burden of cancer in Maine can be established.
Current activities include:
- Finalizing the revised five-year evaluation plan
- Continuing evaluation of MCCCP
- Develop an evaluation plan for Health Maine Partnership objectives, Consortium and Cancer Plan activities
- Produce an evaluation report
- Incorporating CDC Core indicators into Evaluation Plan
- Developing evaluation tools for the No Sun for Babies project
